Who are Surrey & Sussex Anaesthetists?
Surrey and Sussex Anaesthetists (SASA) is a group of Consultant Anaesthetists primarily working at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Our consultants provide specialist anaesthesia services for planned surgery across a range of NHS and private hospitals in the region.
As senior doctors, we are involved in both direct patient care and the training of future anaesthetists, with a focus on safe, personalised peri-operative care before, during and after surgery.

How we work with patients and surgical teams
Our role is to assess your health before surgery, plan the most appropriate anaesthetic, and support you safely through your procedure and recovery. We work closely with your surgeon, theatre nurses and ward teams to provide joined-up care.
Many of our consultants also contribute to training and education within the NHS, helping to maintain high standards of anaesthetic practice locally.
